A history of looking ahead

Bupa was created in England on 3 April 1947 with the founding purpose – ‘To prevent, relieve and cure sickness and ill-health of every kind’. Our dedication to care is the common thread that has continued for over seventy years and is at the core of who we are. We arrived on Australian shores in 2002 and expanded into New Zealand in 2007. We’re always looking forward, while proudly gaining inspiration from occasionally looking back.
