Every day, in every way, we bring real heart to work. At Bupa Parkstone Retirement Village, we are searching for a Cafe Manager to lead our Cafe team. This is a Permanent Full-time position with flexible working days and hours, requires some weekend work.
Our Parkstone Village cafe has an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality star who is passionate about creating a warm, friendly and inviting cafe offering to run the operation of the Parkstone Village cafe.
You will be the heartbeat of the cafe, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for our village residents and their guests and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations for the cafe and catering for our special events.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- People management - including rostering of a team of nine cafe assistants and two kitchen staff
- Customer Service Excellence
- Operational management of cafe from stock, vendor coordination to menu planning and organisation for events and special functions
- Financial management – responsibility for the cafe budget and profitability
- Health, Safety and compliance
What About You
You may be currently or have recently owned and run a cafe, and seeking a change to a more secure permanent role that still allows you to build an inviting and friendly offering while forging.
Service and hospitality are at your core, but you will have also gained experience of financial management of cafes. Resilient by nature and calm under pressure with an eye for detail, you will have proven your hospitality skills running all aspects of cafe management and able to demonstrate:
- 2+ years experience as a Cafe Manager
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and inspire a cafe team.
- Be prepared to roll up your sleeve and get stuck into whatever needs to get done
- Empathy and a reliable, friendly, engaging and professional manner
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents’ lives.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
