This is a Permanent role working Monday to Friday, 32 hours per week. We can discuss flexible working hours during the hiring process.

Your Role:

  • Keep Our Care Home Running Smoothly – Perform general maintenance, upkeep, and repairs to ensure a safe and well-functioning facility.
  • Plan & Prioritize Maintenance Tasks – Manage a preventive maintenance schedule and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee Grounds & Contractors – Ensure the care home’s gardens and outdoor spaces are well maintained.
  • Work Closely with Our Team – Liaise with department heads, managers, and external vendors for repairs and maintenance needs
  • Ensure Accuracy in Budgeting & Repairs – Monitor invoices and approve payments in coordination with management
  • Negotiate with Contractors & Suppliers – Obtain the best price and value for maintenance and repair services.
  • Support Refurbishment Projects – Participate in planning and implementing minor refurbishment works alongside the managers.

About You

  • A People-Person with a Heart for Aged Care – You enjoy working in an environment where your efforts directly improve residents’ quality of life.
  • Experience - At least 1-3 years of work experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
  • Hands-On & Practical – Skilled in general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical work, painting, and general repairs.
  • Organized & Reliable – Able to plan and prioritize tasks efficiently while working independently.
  • Basic Tech Skills – Comfortable using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone for job tracking and reporting.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills – Ability to source and negotiate with suppliers and contractors for cost-effective solutions.
  • Project Participation Experience – Willing to assist in refurbishment projects and facility upgrades.

Bonus if you have: Experience in aged care, healthcare, or retirement villages, or hold a trade qualification in maintenance-related work.
