About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a skilled BA on a fixed term contract through to the end of December 2026 with our Technology & Transformation team, reporting into the Senior Project Manager.
This is a great opportunity for a BA with previous telecommunications experience and a passion for data driven decision making.
This role offers WFH / hybrid working and can be based out of either our Newmarket or Porirua Support offices. Regional locations may be considered for the right applicant.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
- Review and explore opportunities for systems and business process improvement.
- Prepare clear documentation outlining current and future state, clearly articulating business requirements, business processes, rationale for change, and estimated impact of proposed improvements.
- Engage with key business stakeholders to build understanding of current state and opportunities for improvement.
- As change initiatives are created, support the delivery of change, protecting the integrity of the agreed business requirements and assisting with the development of benefit realisation tracking tools.
- Challenge and ask 'why' to provide the best solution for the business and our customers.
- Support project and product delivery teams, ensuring they have clear understanding of business requirements and the change context, and downstream impacts.
- Conduct end to end testing and lead the preparation of test plans, subsequent user training, and high-quality documentation resources.
About You
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst, with demonstrated delivery experience in complex technology-led change initiatives.
- Proven experience facilitating senior-level stakeholder workshops for discovery, requirements elicitation, and solution definition.
- Strong capability in analysing business problems, identifying process and technology solution options, and developing clear, actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience defining and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, user journeys, and performance measures that underpin business transformation programmes.
- Proven end-to-end delivery experience across technology projects, including discovery, solution selection, implementation support, and transition to BAU.
- Extensive experience with process mapping and modelling using tools such as MS Visio and Miro.
- Experience analysing data to identify insights, validate assumptions, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Strong delivery experience working within cross-functional teams, with the ability to operate autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Experience working with one or more delivery methodologies, including Hybrid, Waterfall, and Scaled Agile frameworks.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt, learn quickly, and operate effectively in a complex and evolving programme environment.
