That’s why we are seeking a Legal Advisor on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract for our Newmarket, Auckland Support Office. The purpose of this role is to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world through delivering on Bupa’s ambition to become the world’s most customer-centric healthcare company.
This role will work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with a flexible work-from-home hybrid environment.
About the Role
- Provide commercially focused legal advice and assisting and managing general legal matters, such as marketing, advertising, promotions, privacy, and regulatory and compliance matters.
- Provide procurement support by reviewing and amending existing and new supplier contracts and advising on contractual arrangements.
- Support the Bupa NZ Settlements team alongside the Legal Director.
- Support the drafting of legal documentation relating to Bupa NZ retirement villages, and filings to the Registrar of Retirement Villages, including annual returns.
- Assist in exploring, adopting, and optimising legal process initiatives.
- This role requires flexibility and versatility to change focus in responsibility from time to time, in line with the operational needs of the business and the Legal Team.
What About You:
- Hold a law degree and hold a current NZ practising certificate.
- Commercial lawyer with contract drafting and negotiation experience.
- Minimum 4+ years relevant post-admission experience in-house or in private practice (in-house secondments desirable).
- Ideally have knowledge of the Retirement Villages Act 2003 and associated regulations.
- Strong customer focus with sensitivity to the needs of the elderly.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills.
- You excel in dynamic, fast-paced settings and enjoy partnering and delivering to the business goals.
