Clinical Manager

Tauranga, New Zealand

Apply
Posted 27/06/2025 Job Number 51478 Work type Permanent - Full Time Posting End Date 03/08/2025

We’re looking for a passionate and hands-on Clinical Manager to lead our small 29-bed care home in the heart of Tauranga.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours a week across Monday to Friday, with an early 7am start on Fridays to support the morning routine and connect with the team. The ideal person for this role is not someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day, but someone who thrives on being on the floor, leading by example, and keeping their clinical skills sharp.

This role is perfect for a senior RN ready to step up, a current Clinical Manager seeking a smaller, more personal care environment, or someone looking to stay connected to hands-on care while leading a team.

You'll bring confidence in clinical systems, interRAI, and audits, while also supporting and mentoring your team. You'll be a visible, engaged leader, recognised for your approachable and hands-on style. You’ll be passionate about the care of our elderly residents and enjoy being involved in everything from clinical care planning to wound care and supporting your RNs and Caregivers day-to-day. A great communicator, you’ll be comfortable working alongside whānau, residents, and visiting health professionals.

Clinical Manager: Be at the Heart of Aged Care!

Every day, in every way, we bring real heart to work. It is what drives us to deliver our refreshingly different person-first commitment to care. That is why we are seeking a Clinical Manager for our Bupa Accadia Manor Care Home. You will enrich the lives of our societys most vulnerable and be part of an inclusive culture where you can make a difference while growing your career. Sure, it is a big call. But imagine the impact you could make

About You

You are perfect for this role because of these 4 important things about your way of managing:

  • Bringing People Together: You love making everyone feel like they belong, whether they're residents, staff, families and the wider community.
  • Making Residents' Lives Better: You're always doing things to keep residents healthy and happy, which means fewer trips to the hospital, better movement, and feeling mentally good.
  • Helping Staff Grow: You're great at finding and teaching new staff, and you keep helping them learn and get better at their jobs.
  • Making Things Better: You've made changes before to make resident care better, like implement quality improvement initiatives, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing best practices.

Where You will Make an Impact:

  • Provide person-centred clinical care for residents in a 29-bed care home offering rest-home level of care.
  • Lead a team of caregivers and nurses to provide the highest quality clinical care
  • Conduct medication rounds, manage care plans, lead in-service education sessions for staff, and maintain accurate paperwork
  • Stand up and tell us where we can invest more to ensure continuous quality improvement

Your Person-First Approach:

  • Hands-on and visible leader — thrives being on the floor, not behind a desk
  • Hold a current APC and NZ Nursing Council Registration
  • Leads by example, helps with meds, wound care, and clinical decision-making
  • Candidates must be interRAI trained and competent, with confidence in clinical assessments being key to success in this role.

Extra Reasons to Belong:

  • Fully subsidised Southern Cross health insurance to our eligible permanent NZ employees and a discount on insurance cover for eligible family members.
  • Be part of a strong national and regional support network, including Clinical Managers in the region, regional quality partners, and our national clinical services improvement team to support your success in this role.
  • Wellbeing discounts and advice, EAP counselling services, study support, and cultural leave.
  • Paid parental leave - in addition to standard parental leave, Bupa offers 12 weeks of paid leave for primary carers and 2 weeks for secondary carers.
  • Refer-a-friend programme.
  • Professional Development, in-house and external training and development.
  • Industry-competitive remuneration and benefits, national forums, and internal reward and recognition programmes.
  • Nursing Council-Approved PDRP
  • No matter who you are or where you come from, we encourage you to ‘Be You’ at Bupa.
  • An accredited employer with Immigration NZ that values its diverse employees.
