Village Assistant

Every day, in every way, we bring real heart to work. Bupa Foxbridge Retirement Village located in Hamilton is looking for a Village Assistant.
This is a Permanentpart time position, working on an average of 28 hours a week.
- Roster- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with once a month required to support open days.
- Hours of work: 8:30am to 4:00pm.
- The role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a real difference when your support is needed most.
This role will suit someone with a warm, engaging, bubbly personality who is customer-focused, eager to learn and can work autonomously and within a team. Ideally, we need someone with strong administration skills who has a full driver’s license and is willing to drive a van. Our residents are at the heart of what we do so you will love working with the elderly and making their lives better.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Support the Village Coordinator with the day to day running of the Village.
- Collaborate with the Village Coordinator on the sale of village apartments and participate in open days, including occasional weekends.
- Plan and facilitate community events and programmes to foster a sense of belonging and support.
- Welcome new residents and assist during move‑in periods.
- Organise and implement activities and van trips with the residents.
- Assist with Village events that are held in the Village.
- Conduct regular welfare check-ins with residents and resolve any potential conflicts that may arise.
- Facilitate the distribute of newsletters and monthly activity calendars.
We have a strong sense of community. You will help maintain a warm, friendly atmosphere and make sure the residents feel at home. This involves helping new residents settle into their new home and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the village.
What About You
- Approachable and friendly with excellent communication skills.
- Empathetic and compassionate
- Good level of computer literacy, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Great initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism.
- A current driver's license with at least five years driving experience in NZ as you will be required to drive a company van.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
