Clinical Manager: Be at the Heart of Aged Care

Every day, in every way, we bring real heart to work. It is what drives us to deliver our refreshingly different person-first commitment to care. That is why we are seeking a Clinical Manager for our Bupa The Booms Care Home in Thames. You will enrich the lives of our society’s most vulnerable and be part of an inclusive culture where you can make a difference while growing your career. Sure, it is a big call. But imagine the impact you could make.

About You

As someone who is passionate about aged care and leading the clinical care of our residents, you will be a good fit for this role if you manage in the below ways:

  • Making Residents' Lives Better: You actively lead by example in providing person-centred care, which keeps residents healthy and happy for longer.
  • Bringing People Together: You love making everyone feel like they belong, whether they're residents, staff, families, and the wider community.
  • Helping Staff Grow: You're great at teaching, coaching, and mentoring new and existing staff, and you encourage a learning environment that helps them get better at their jobs.
  • Making Things Better: You've made changes before to make resident care better, like implement quality improvement initiatives, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing best practices.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, located in Thames, which is positioned right next to the sea, boasting magnificent views of the Firth of Thames. If you are seeking a lifestyle change, this is a peaceful town, where you can enjoy the lively markets, beach, and close-knit community. With affordable housing, ditch the traffic and stress of the big city and live in the Coromandel!

Where You will Make an Impact

  • Provide person-centred clinical care for residents in a 70-bed care home across rest home, hospital, and dementia level of care.
  • 3-year audit certification where you can continue the success of the team with providing the best care.
  • Lead a team of caregivers and nurses to provide the highest quality clinical care.
  • Conduct medication rounds, manage care plans, lead in-service education sessions for staff, and maintain accurate paperwork.
  • Stand up and tell us where we can invest more to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

You will help us make a real difference through your Clinical Leadership experience, personal passion, and empathy.

  • Hold a current APC and NZ Nursing Council Registration.
  • Passion for leading a team to mentor and support others.
  • Leading continuous quality improvements.
  • Excellent clinical skills in adult care and ideal aged care experience.
  • Confident communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • A compassionate nurse who strives for excellence and to make an impact in residents lives.
