Wattle Downs, New Zealand
Have you ever wanted a career with purpose? Be at the heart of aged care.
Every day, in every way, we bring real heart to work. It’s what drives us to deliver our refreshingly different person-first commitment to care. That’s why we are seeking a General Manager for our Bupa Wattle Downs Care Home& Village in South Auckland. You will be leading the care home and village while continuing to build upon Wattle Down’s strong community reputation. This care home offers 60-beds including rest home and hospital-level care, and our retirement village consists of 37 apartments.

- Demonstrate leadership in Quality & Risk Management and Health and Safety requirements.
- Be on a regional shared, on-call roster with other managers, being available by phone for 1 week out of 7 weeks.
What about you?
You have a passion for people, a collaborative, engaging, and empathetic communication style, and a strong understanding of commercial drivers. You are driven by providing exceptional customer service, and you will develop and implement strategies to effectively integrate care across the care home and village.
Through your experience you will be able to demonstrate:
- Sound experience as a business manager, preferably with an aged care or health background.
- You will enjoy walking the floor, providing support to your team, residents, and their families.
- Experience leading and coaching large teams while promoting development opportunities.
- Financial and budget management experience.
- Ability to develop a culture of trust, performance, and transparency focused on the customer.
- Proven experience leading transformational change where teams are engaged, resulting in commercial and customer improvements.
- Experience working with stakeholders, which includes liaising with Te Whatu Ora, Allied Health team, local community, residents, and families.
- Experience with audit management and leading continuous quality improvements.
- A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred.
