As part of our Household team, a Wellbeing Support Assistant, ensures a comfortable, clean, and healthy environment by providing residents with general housekeeping services, assistance with daily living and lifestyle tasks and keeping communal areas clean and well presented.

Hours & Roster Details:
- Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
- Hours: Average 35 hours/fortnight
- Shift Time: Monday to Friday- 9am – 2pm/ Saturday to Sunday- 10am to 1pm
- Roster Pattern: Thursdays and Fridays every week + every second Wednesday + every second weekend (both Saturday and Sunday).
- The purpose of this job
Located on the northeastern edge of Cambridge, Bupa St Kilda Care Home is a modern, purpose-built care home with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It provides Rest Home, Hospital, Dementia Care, and Care Suites.
As a Wellbeing Support Assistant, you’ll work alongside a supportive team to:
- Provide effective, efficient, and hygienic weekly cleaning of each resident’s apartment to a high standard
- Complete all daily cleaning tasks for community areas as scheduled
- Provide daily bed making service to residents and weekly bed changing services
- Ensure care is taken with collecting and returning residents' laundry in a timely manner
- Provide reminders and ensure medications are taken, and support with filling prescriptions
- Assist with dressing and undressing, personal hygiene supervision, and meal deliveries
- Provide any other general services our residents subscribe to, such as companion time
- Report to the manager any faults, issues, or when supplies need replacement in residents’ homes and community areas
- Manage supplies economically and avoid wastage
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage
- Treat residents with respect and dignity
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Previous experience in an aged care environment, disability support, or community services (desirable)
- Ideal work experience of 2+ years in a customer service or support role such as hospitality, housekeeping, or home-based care
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Living locally in Cambridge
- Take pride in providing high-quality household services that help residents live comfortably and safely
- Acknowledge and accept each village resident as an individual and actively encourage residents to be independent
- Always respect the confidentiality and privacy of village residents and actively communicate and listen respectfully to residents
- Show an ability to work well individually and with a team
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents’ lives
- Reliable transport or travel arrangements
- Hold legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
