About the Role

Our Data & Technology team have an exciting 18-month fixed term opportunity for an intermediate level Data Insights Engineer to support our Senior Data Insights Engineer.  This role can be based in either Auckland or Wellington.  

Day to day you will be supporting the development, maintenance and optimising Power BI solutions to strengthen business intelligence capabilities, support data-driven decision-making, and deliver actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency and strategic.

Where you will make an impact

  • Independently design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports with a focus on usability and performance.
  • Work with data architects to contribute to optimizing data warehouse design for data governance and analytics.
  • Support analysts and team members by troubleshooting reports and sharing best practices for BI development.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to reports, data warehouse, and Power BI performance, escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for dashboards, reports, and data processes.


About You

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Power BI or similar BI tools, including developing interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Experience obtaining business requirements and working to deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data architecture, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and programming languages such as Python is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
