This is a dualcasual role, meaning shifts are as required by the care home across 2 roles.

In the CasualKitchen Assistant role, you won't just prep and clean, you will be a key ingredient in a busy and experienced kitchen team that delivers exceptional support to our Residents. As a CasualCleaner, you will help create a homely and healthy place for our residents by providing an exceptional cleaning service.

The purpose of this job 

Located in Wattle Downs, Auckland, Bupa Wattle Downs Care Home overlooks the picturesque Wattle Downs Golf Course and is situated alongside the retirement village. Care options include Rest Home and Hospital Care.

As a Casual Kitchen Assistant, you will: 

  • Assist with food preparation
  • Undertake General kitchen duties (dishwashing and cleaning)
  • Adhere to Hygiene and food safety standards
  • Maintain confidentiality 
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures

As a Casual Cleaner you will be part of the housekeeping team to: 

  • Maintain a high standard of cleaning as set out on the cleaning schedule.
  • Managing cleaning supplies.
  • Meeting of daily schedule to ensure that residents’ rooms and public areas are in perfect order, reporting any faults or issues to the Household supervisor. 
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage.
  • Treat residents with respect and dignity.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Preferably 1 year experience in similar roles
  • Be a proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed
  • Empathetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive difference for residents
  • Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends
  • Reliable transport and travel arrangements
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
