Please note that we operate on a six-week rotating roster cycle, covering Monday through Sunday.

The purpose of this job 

Bupa Mary Shapley Care Home is located in a peaceful, sunny part of central Whakatāne. The home provides rest home and hospital-level care. It boasts award-winning gardens, which have received multiple Whakatāne Best Garden Competition awards.

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will play an important role in helping create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents.

Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:

• Supporting residents with daily living activities and wellbeing
• Preparing and serving nutritious meals
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Processing laundry and ensuring resident clothing and linen are cared for appropriately
• Creating positive experiences for residents, visitors, and team members
• Following health, safety, and infection prevention procedures
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional service and care

What you'll need to make it possible

• A genuine passion for supporting older people and enhancing their quality of life
• Previous experience in aged care, hospitality, cleaning, laundry, kitchen, or customer service environments is advantageous
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
• Basic computer literacy for applicable roles
• Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
