Hours & Roster Details:
- Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
- Hours: Average 21 hours per week or 126 hours over 6 week roster period
- Shift Time: 9am – 2pm
- Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly rotating roster across Monday - Sunday)
The purpose of this job
Located in Whitby, Porirua, close to the Pauatahanui Inlet, Bupa Whitby Care Home offers Rest Home, Hospital, Dementia, and Specialist Dementia (Psychogeriatric) Care.
As part of our Household team, you will:
- Provide efficient, and hygienic cleaning and laundry services to a high standard.
- Complete all daily cleaning tasks set by the cleaning schedule, ensuring that residents’ rooms, public areas, and laundry are in perfect order.
- Ensure all care is taken with the residents' personal clothing and returned to owners.
- Operate all laundry equipment as specified.
- Report to the manager any faults, issues, or when supplies need replacement.
- Manage supplies economically, avoiding wastage.
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage.
- Treat residents with respect and dignity.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Previous housekeeping experience in a similar environment is preferable.
- Take pride in providing high quality household services that help residents live comfortably and safely.
- Show an ability to work well individually and with a team to create a smooth workflow.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents’ lives while communicating well with others.
- Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week, including weekends and evenings.
- Reliable transport or travel arrangements.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
